How to Download & Setup Eudora Light
(also how to set it up for Multiple Accounts)
(this tutorial may be used to illustrate how to download other programs as well)
Step 1. Go to SpoCom.Com's Software page and find the mail client software, then click on the Eudora Light link. This will take you to the Qualcomm site where you can download Eudora. Look for the link below (this link will start the download of Eudora Light):
When you click on this link it will take you to a page where you fill out some personal information. You only have to fill out the top 3 fields to proceed (First & Last name and e-mail address - you need not enter these truthfully, which might bring junk mail), then click on the Download button at the bottom of the page.
This should automatically download the program - if not, click on the download manually link.
(to download other programs, you simply find the link that downloads the program and follow the instructions below)
Step 2. When you click on the download link, you'll see the following window appear (NOTE you can use this same illustration to download a file from the net from other links, too):
select save to disk and then the OK button and the following window will appear:
The easiest option is to save the Eudora Light setup file to your desktop by selecting Destop in the "Save in:" field, then click the Save button (don't rename the file or type). You may save it in another directory, however -- just remember which directory you saved it in.
Step 3. When the download is complete, you'll get a "Download Complete" notification (click OK on the "Download Complete" window to get rid of it) or the download window will go away, and you'll notice you have a new eul306.exe icon on your desktop. Double-click the new icon to begin setting up the program:
Step 4. Setup Eudora using all the default settings (click all the Yes' and Ok's and Next buttons). When done you'll find a new Eudora icon in your Start/Programs menu under Eudora.
Step 5. If you are only going to setup Eudora once for one account, you can now delete the new icon on your desktop. Once the program is setup, you no longer need the file that sets it up - that file is just taking up space. DON'T delete it, however, if you plan to setup Eudora again for more accounts.
Click on one of the following links to finish:
I only need one copy of Eudora Light for one account, please take me to the How-to pages so I can configure it for my SpoCom.Com account.
I need to setup Eudora more than once for multiple accounts, please take me to the instructions on how to do this.
